Phoenix Center for the Arts, in partnership with Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, has announced the ninth annual Mayor’s Arts Awards finalists. The official event will take place at Margaret T. Hance Park Urban Plaza on Nov. 18.

Arts community leaders will be acknowledged during the 2021 Mayor’s Arts Awards event for the following categories: Community Innovator, Performing Artist, Visual Artist and Young Artist (age 12-17).

Finalists will be chosen on the basis of innovation, impact and collaboration.

‘As an arts organization, we see every day the life-changing impact the arts have on people’s lives,’ Phoenix Center for the Arts CEO Lauren Henschen said in a press release. ‘This event is just one small way we can give back to those artists and recognize the contributions they have made to innovate how arts experiences and arts education can be transformative for our community.’

All awards presented by Mayor Kate Gallego will be created by the center’s teaching artists.

Tickets and table reservations are still available for purchase and start at $125 per person. Those who cannot attend the event are welcome and encouraged to bid on the silent auction.2021 Mayor’s Arts Awards finalists announced.
